There are some weddings that stay with you forever, and Lucy and Brad’s celebration at Middleton Lodge was one of them.
From the moment I arrived at the Farmhouse to begin Lucy’s bridal makeup, it felt less like work and more like catching up with an old friend. Lucy has actually modelled for me before, so it was such a joy to be part of her real wedding morning. The atmosphere was girlie, relaxed, full of laughter, the best playlist, and even a spontaneous Britney Spears karaoke moment, the perfect way to start the most magical day.
Getting Ready in the Middleton Lodge Farmhouse
Lucy chose to get ready in the Farmhouse at Middleton Lodge, a space that feels cosy yet effortlessly elegant. It was the perfect backdrop for a morning of bridal prep, and the natural light made it a dream for creating her glowing bridal makeup look. I focused on my signature glowing skin makeup with softly defined eyes and a fresh, radiant finish — the kind of timeless bridal beauty that enhances rather than masks, and lasts from morning prosecco to the very last dance. Lucy knew exactly what she wanted, as her wedding morning was now the 4th time I have ever done her makeup.
Working alongside Colette from Tosetti Bridal Hair Team was extra special. Not only is she one of the most talented bridal hairstylists I know, but she’s also one of my best friends within the industry. She even did my own bridal hair, so seeing her work her magic on Lucy’s big day was such a full-circle moment. Together, we created a look for Lucy that felt polished, radiant, and perfectly “her.”
The Dream Team of Suppliers
This day was brought to life by some of the most talented suppliers, each one adding their touch of magic. Rebecca Kerr Photography captured every detail so beautifully. I absolutely love seeing Rebecca at weddings; her style is natural yet refined, and she has a way of catching those fleeting, emotional moments that brides treasure forever. Plus, she brings the vibes, her bluetooth speaker, and feels like the ultimate cheerleader that every Bride needs. Alongside her was second photographer Lucy Henzell- another fave of mine, and the ever so talented Freya Film Co capturing it all on video.
Lucy looked incredible in her Suzanne Neville gown and veil, elegant and timeless, and Brad looked equally stylish in his tailored Hawes and Curtis suit. When I tell you noone, and I repeat noone does a Bridal Gown like Suzanne Neville; wow. Words can't explain the quality, beauty, and feel of these dresses.
The florals and styling by Wedding and Events Floral Design transformed both the Middleton Lodge Fig House and the stunning walled gardens, blending romance and modern elegance seamlessly. Guests were treated to the vibrant sounds of Back Chat Brass, adding an unforgettable energy to the celebrations.
Why Middleton Lodge Was the Perfect Setting
As a Middleton Lodge wedding makeup artist, I never tire of working at this iconic Yorkshire venue. The Fig House is flooded with natural light, making it a dream for both makeup and photography, while the walled gardens provide an ethereal backdrop that feels like stepping into a fairytale. I always know when I receive a Middleton Gallery that i'll fall even more in love with the place! Every corner of Middleton Lodge carries an understated luxury, which makes it the perfect setting for couples who want their day to feel both romantic and refined.
A Wedding Filled With Heart
What I’ll remember most about Lucy and Brad’s day is the joy. From the laughter-filled morning to the heartfelt vows in the Fig House and the celebrations in the gardens, every part of their wedding radiated love and authenticity. Being surrounded by such talented, kind suppliers; Colette, Rebecca, and the wider team.. made the day feel even more special.
For brides looking for luxury makeup services at Middleton Lodge or any other Yorkshire wedding venue, this wedding is proof that soft, glowing bridal makeup paired with incredible suppliers and a truly special setting creates magic that lasts a lifetime.
Now, go obsess over the previews. Would you believe me if I said this wasn't even the full gallery!??
